The Church Today
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today is a world-wide community of faith. The Church:
- has 13 million members, more than half of whom live outside the United States.
- is represented by over 60,000 missionaries in 162 countries.
- has published more than 100 million copies of the Book of Mormon – Another Testament of Jesus Christ in more than 93 languages.
- has 115 operating temples world-wide and other 13 in construction.
- has meetinghouses all over the world, in which members and visitors meet every Sunday to worship God and learn together.

The Headquarters in Salt Lake City
With the arrival of the first pioneers under the leadership of Brigham Young, Salt Lake City in Utah became the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Today, Salt Lake City, USA is a vibrant city at foot of the Rocky Mountains. The headquarters of the Church is in the center.
The Church's property includes:
- Temple Square, an attractively laid out area, approximately 14 hectares in size, which contains the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall and two Visitors' Centers.
- The Church Office Building, east of Temple Square
- The imposing Conference Center, in which the Church holds its conferences for the whole world; it lies to the north of Temple Square.
