Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Under the direction of God the Father, Jesus Christ created the earth (John 1:10; Hebrews 1:2). He is the Savior of all mankind.
When Jesus lived on the earth about 2000 years ago, he led a perfect life. He taught by word and example how man should live and love God and his fellow man. He established a church (Ephesians 4:11-14) and left an organized system of belief known as the Gospel of jesus Christ.
At the end of His life Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and gave His life on the cross, thereby completing the atonement. Through the atonement He saved everyone who follows him from their sins (1 Peter 2:21). Because of the atonement, men's sins are forgiven them, if they honestly repent (Book of Mormon, Mosiah 26:30).
Through His resurrection, Jesus Christ saved us from death. Because He conquered death, all men receive the gift of resurrection (Acts of the Apostles 24:15, 1 Corinthians 15:22). After this earthly life, Jesus Christ will be our judge. (Acts of the Apostles 17:31; John 5:21; Acts of the Apostles 10:42).
