The family is the central unit in God’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. Family ties do not have to end at death, but can remain extant for all eternity.

For members of the Church of Jesus Christ, the temple is the House of the Lord. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints builds temples to give people the opportunity to receive saving ordinances there which sustain them in this life and prepare them for the life after death.
