INSTITUTE OF RELIGION

What is the Institute of Religion?

The Institute of Religion – Institute for short – is fun! It is also a safe refuge from the pressures, trials and challenges of the world. The Institute program has to do with learning for eternity and offers the opportunity to be taught and nourished by the Spirit. Regular classes are offered during the week on a range of religious topics. Institute students can come together spiritually, socially and culturally with others who espouse the same ideals. Institute helps prepare you for the temple and a full-time mission.

Who can take part in Institute?

All young single adults ages 18 to 30 and married students or trainees are invited to attend Institute classes and take part in the activities and projects in the Institute Outreach Centers.

How can I participate in Institute?

Just drop in! One or two friendly people will greet you and tell you what classes are currently on offer and what activities are planned. You’ll introduce yourself to other young adults and you’ll soon have new friends.

What about social activities?

Institute offers a broad range of social activities, including dances, parties, sport, games evenings, trips etc.

What did President Gordon B. Hinckley say about Institute?

"We hope that all for whom these programs are available will take advantage of them. Knowledge of the gospel will be increased, faith will be strengthened, and you will enjoy wonderful associations and friendships with those of your own kind." ("Of Missions, Temples, and Stewardship", Ensign, Nov. 1995, 51).
